Poseidon is together with a cooperating company delivering Engine Room Simulators and training systems. The simulator systems covers a range of engine configurations and propulsion systems. The simulators can be installed in standard PC-labs or in consoles and cabinets with hardware controls and indicators.

Simulators
Several Engine Room Simulator training systems can be delivered. The most commonly used in training institutions are:

• Low Speed Engine Room Simulator
  Networked simulator for training of operation of the engine of a merchant ship with FPP. (Can be used for training of IMO Model Course 2.07.)
• Medium Speed Engine Room Simulator
  Networked Simulator for training of the operation of  a medium speed engine with CPP
• CBT Training Software
  Interactive educational modules for installation on single PC. For self studying and in depth work with selected parts of engine room installations. Contains advanced 3D virtual reality models.

Compliance
The simulators has been developed to comply with STCW Code: Section A-1/12 and Section B-1/12 and ISM Code 6 and 8

Training Environment
The simulator software contains all main systems and auxiliary systems with controls, indicators, valves, alarms etc. In addition there are many graphic status diagrams.
Realistic engine sound is generated.
The installation can be on PC only, desktop hardware consoles or as full mission engine installations with consoles and cabinets.

Assessment
The instructor can introduce various fault situations and contains a system for automatically assessment of the students.
