The new GMDSS instrument AIS-SART from Jotron is implementet in Poseidon Pharos GMDSS simulator and with this several new features for the student and for the instructor.

The student can perform tests and check expiry date according to manufacturers procedures in addition to activate the sart in a SAR exercise.

In order to display test signals and signals from an activated AIS-SART we have also introduced a chart system in the student station software.
The chart system can of course be used for navigating in a SAR exercise.

At the instructors position the AIS-SART signal will display in the event list and can easily be processed further.

At the end of the year Poseidon installed the Pharos GMDSS Simulator at Fiskeriskolen, Thyborøn in Denmark. This is a large GMDSS Simulator installation with its 16 student stations.

In the Philippine marked our sister company Poseidon Asia Inc. has had a successful year and sold the Pharos GMDSS simulator system to new and existing cutomers.

We are especially pleased to se that customers through more than 10 years upgrade their old DOS-based simulators with the new system.

The A4 GMDSS console with hardware radio equipment is now available for new and existing customers

The console can be installed as one of the student stations in the Poseidon GMDSS simulator lab or as a A4 ship radio station in a Bridge Simulator System

In addition to real VHF, MF/HF, Alarm panel, and AC/DC switchboard the console has a touch screen for operating all other required GMDSS equipment.

All hardware is fully integrated with the simulator software when it comes to instructors control, logging of events and debriefing.

The simulator is STCW95 compliant and certified by Norwegian Maritime Radio Inspection, Telenor and AMERC - Association of Marine Electronic and Radio Colleges, UK

Earlier this month Poseidon finished the installation of a Full Mission Bridge Simulator at IFM Peche Commerce, Papeete, Tahiti.

The school, located at Tahiti Nui, has installed the Poseidon Borealis Bridge Simulator.

The system comprises of totally five student bridges. The main bridge has a visual system with seven visual channels.

By this installation Poseidon confirms the good relations with our friends on the other side of the globe.

Poseidon arranged workshop for Scandinavian GMDSS Simulator customers in the periode 1-3 March 2010.

The venue for this event was Statles Rorbusenter, near Leknes in Lofoten and gathered participants from Finland, Faroe Islands and well as Norway.

Lofoten showed itself from its best with absolutely beautiful weather the whole period. For many participants this was the first time above the Arctic Circle and the breath-taking nature created a great setting for the simulator gathering.

Poseidon is happy for the positive feedback on the program and especially the new Coast Radio Station features presented was emphasized as unique and very useful for the instructor.

The GMDSS instructors were also introduced to the Poseidon GMDSS hardware console with VHF-DSC, MF/HF-DSC, Alarm Panel, Battery Indicator and an integrated Flat Panel Touch Screen for operation of the Inmarsat instruments and the simulated SART and EPIRB

For many of the participants this was also the first time to use the Fleet 77 in a GMDSS exercise. 

As a part of the training the GMDSS instructors designed and run a complete SAR exercise.

The new version of Pharos GMDSS Simulator, with the advanced CRS functionality, will be released 29th of March 2010

Poseidon Simulation has won a contract for supply of an Inland Waterway Simulator at Berechja College in the city of Urk.

Poseidon will install one main bridge and three smaller bridges, all equipped as riverboats.

Actual areas of the Rhine will be visualized in order to create realistic training scenarios.

The simulator will be delivered in accordance with CCV requirements.
 
In addition to the Inland Waterways Simulator, Berechja College already has the Poseidon Pharos GMDSS simulator.
